Teaching is my passion.  I have taught in Santa Fe, New Mexico and Castle Rock, Colorado.

True learning occurs when a student is passionate about his or her subject of study and has the opportunity to have a hands on, relevant, experience of that study.  In essence, in Language Arts, our goal is to discover and experience the power and impact of thoughts and words.

Articles and videos that we will analyze for the first project + Google Classroom codes-

Articles one and two examine the mindsets of athletes.

Again, the big take away here is not that we have to be an amazing athlete, instead, what is their story teaching us about the idea of finding a way through opposed to finding a way out?

There are specific tools introduced in the articles that will help answer that question.

In this first project we wil examine moments when we have quit (found a way out) and moments when we perservered to find a way through a difficult challenege/ obstacle/ set back.

These videos illustrate those moments, the way out, or the way through.

Keep in mind we don't have to be an amazing athelete to relate to these stories.  Everyday we are faced with some challenge and have to make a choice between finding a way through or a way out.

As human beings we look for role models to share their story to inspire us on our own journey.

How do these stories inspire you?  How many setbacks, challenges, and obstacles do you think these human beings experienced?  What do you think the difference is between finding a way through opposed to finding a way out?
